ABOUT Leah 수진 Kim

If I had to pick just one identity that has felt resonant through the various seasons of my life, it would be that of a storyteller.

Whether as a yoga teacher, a new mom navigating postpartum darkness, a writer seeking to connect too many dots, or an organizer raising funds, storytelling has always been the common thread that moves me and pulls me together. Some stories are celebrations while others break your heart open. Each story holds life itself.

Throughout the chapters of my life story, I have been featured in Women’s HealthShapeGarage, and Matches Fashion and on sites such as MotherlyMedium, and Tiny Buddha. My writing has appeared in Harper’s BazaarPT MagazineAssemblageJust BreatheGet the GlossTop Sante, and Metro UK

And — I wrote a book which comes out in April 2026.

I have created this consulting business because I believe in the power of storytelling to effect change. I believe we are all co-creating the world and reality itself, whether we are aware of it or not.

I am particularly interested in supporting writers of the global majority as we are grossly underrepresented in the publishing world. Our stories and identities deserve to be held, known, and elevated.

My writing journey started when I was a kid. In my memory I started writing stories at the age of 5, but as mother of a 5 year old now, I’m pretty certain that that couldn’t have happened. Whatever my exact age, I can’t remember ever not writing or dreaming of writing. I was too afraid to truly pursue this dream until I wrote my forthcoming book — Mom, Unfiltered. Before then, I received and promptly minimized nudges of encouragement throughout my life, from a college professor using an essay I’d written in high school as a writing sample to being commissioned to write an e-book about teaching yoga to articles featured in a spectrum of publications from fitness magazines to motherhood websites. If I’m honest, I can’t help but wonder with the weight of regret, what might have happened if I had believed in myself as a writer, just a bit more, just a bit earlier?

As a daughter of immigrant Asian parents, the career of a writer had no potentiality amidst that of doctor, lawyer, or accountant. When I suggested that I might become an English major at UCLA, my parents were truly puzzled as to what kind of work I would do after graduating. I relegated myself to being an Economics major while quietly — and blissfully — minoring in English and Korean. Language and literature — this is where I thrived, and without those classes to buoy my Econ grades, I would have failed out of college.

I don’t begrudge my parents for their lack of support over my creative pursuits; I deeply understand their instinct to make sure I could survive in the so-called real world. But here’s the thing — as a writer, we are building the real world. Writing IS creation.

I believe writing is spiritual, intuitive, and magical. I bring all of who I am, what I’ve experienced and learned, my connection to spirit, as well as my values to the page, whether I’m working on my own project or in partnership with you. I taught yoga for 15 years, I have an enduring nearly lifelong practice of prayer and meditation, I can refer to your astrological birth chart, I can access Automatic Writing, and I will use all of my skills and resources to support you. For whatever is beyond my scope of ability, I will reach out to my extensive network of friends, comrades, and colleagues so that together, we can build the most complete and nourishing writing practice — perfectly tailored to you.

The world needs your stories. And I can’t wait to be a part of your journey!
